Goodbye Curls

We finally decided it was time to cut off Boodle’s rag-a-muffin head. He just wasn’t pulling it off the way Soren did at his age. Boodle is just too sweet and laid back for the rockstar look.

Before hair cut (this is the stillest I could get him to stay as he was extremely excited for the skittles he was about to receive as a means to keep him still for the important part.)

After the cut (once again, couldn’t keep him still because he just ate a bunch of skittles! He was wild!)

A Farewell Dinner

Kevin is away this week building a bus garage (don’t ask).  During the construction process, he will be sleeping at his Aunt Sharon’s house in Augusta.  The kids and I dropped Kevin off and enjoyed a farewell-for-the-week dinner at Aunt Sharon’s house.

The kids had a great time in the pool with Uncle Vova before dinner. IMG_1718

And who wouldn’t like Aunt Sharon’s desserts?!

We’ll miss you this week Daddy (Kevy)!

A Weekend Getaway

Kevin and I enjoyed a weekend getaway, compliments of the Peterson Family!  While we were enjoying a weekend at the spa, the boys were enjoying a fun-filled weekend with the Petersons. IMG_1661 IMG_1647

Superheros

My parents’ dog, Barnum, has a bit more training to do when it comes to coming when he is called. One of his favorites, is to swim away when he is off the leash.  He sometimes takes this to an extreme and really does not stop swimming into the lake or river. This has resulted in several rescues.  My mother was the first to have to make a swimming rescue. Of course, this was in early May on a 60 degree day when the water was still in the 50s.  My mother stripped down to her underwear and swam after that dog. I won’t post what the neighbors on the lake said about that:)  Given her superhero efforts, Jess bought her a superman tee-shirt. Barnum’s adventures did not stop there. Amy and Greg have since each gotten a turn to swim after the dog, respectively earning superhero tee-shirts as well.

Up to Their Neck in Sand

We have been very fortunate to spend a lot of time out at Grandma and Papa’s new camp. One of the nicest features is the sandy beach.  Not only does it allow us slime-phobic adults to enjoy the water, the kids are thoroughly entertained by digging in the sand.

Just One of the Gang

Boodle is growing up so quickly. He is quite intent on doing everything the big boys do…and he is actually starting to look like just one of the gang.

The Terrible Two

Nick and Soren are the best of friends.  But when these two get together, watch out, evil plans quickly unfold…its a good thing they are cute! (ps. I am aware that Soren’s pants are on backwards. He put them on himself and then refused to allow me to turn them around)

Occupying Our Time

Recently, we had a horrible illness run through our house. We were finally getting over our several days of fever and lethargy, only to be taken down with strep throat. This meant we had to get creative with our activities since we were stuck in quarantine for a week!IMG_1591

Thankfully, after a week of illness and a week of subsequent recovery, I think we are finally back on track
