Sidell Family Fun

Once again, the blog has gotten away from me. That’s okay, it just means that we have been to busy doing fun things for me to update things (it also sometimes means that I have misplaced my camera for a week or soWinking smile).

We were fortunate enough to get in some much needed Sidell Family Fun this week.  Jess, John, Mason, Fiona, and Mallory made the trip up for Thanksgiving. We are always excited to see them, but even more excited this time because this is the first time we got to meet the newest addition, Mallory!

IMG_6545IMG_6559IMG_6568The boys LOVED her. They were both very gentle and sweet with their newest baby cousin.  I think Bodie was happy to have been replaced as the baby of the family.

IMG_6586This was perhaps one of the most relaxed family get togethers. The kids are finally getting old enough that we were able to allow them to play on their own, and play on their own they did!  The mom’s even got to sit down for the entire Thanksgiving dinner…I know, weird….

IMG_6596Of course the paparazzi were out in full force. And the crazy kid antics were also present. IMG_6613IMG_6636IMG_6639

So while we are thankful for so much, we are especially thankful for such a great family to share the holidays with!

They’ve Gone Plaid

One of the boys’ favorite weekend activities is getting to decorate pancakes with the cake decorating things.  It doesn’t happen very often because it is a mess and a major sugar high, but it was yet another weekend with Daddy working in the park, so we had to figure out something to do.

The activity usually starts out fairly neat, clean, and organized

But things quickly start getting a little sticky…

IMG_6501IMG_6502IMG_6504And in the end, the frosting and sprinkles are the easy mess to clean up. This is the real mess that I was left with…IMG_6505IMG_6506IMG_6510IMG_6512IMG_6514IMG_6515IMG_6516IMG_6517IMG_6522IMG_6523IMG_6524

Goldfish Hockey

Believe it or not, this is one of the cleaner games the boys play…

The Maine Jump

We have a new bounce house place in town and the boys got to check it out the other day. Soren has been working hard of filling up his positive rewards chart and he did it. So for the reward, we headed over to the Maine Jump.

IMG_6360IMG_6363I really didn’t get any good pictures because they literally did not stop moving for the 2.5hours we were there.

Their favorite bounce house was the one with the very high slide (it really is quite high).  While Soren was at first hesitant to try it, once he saw his younger brother climb right up, he followed suit. And after just one ride up and down, they were hooked!  Soren told me “I just told myself, ‘Be brave Soren, be brave!’ and I did it!”  Of course in true Bodie fashion, he was much faster and more confident at climbing up than Soren or actually than most of the bigger kids.  Sometimes I do forget that he is only two.

It was a great day and a great activity.  I do hope that the kids had enough fun that a reward of another trip will provide enough incentive to fill up their behavior charts!

The Peterson Power Tools

IMG_6487

So we have been putting off buying a swing set since our house has been on the market, in hopes of selling and putting up a swing set at our new home.  But since there appears to be no sale in the near future, we broke down and bought one. The kids were thrilled!  And the construction was really a team effort!

Needless to say, Soren was soooo excited to work with his father and Beepa in the building process. He even named the construction team, the Peterson Power Tools!  He ran around all day saying he is a Peterson Power Tool.

Soren even officially learned how to use a drill. So I suggest that you hold on to anything with screws in it since he loves unscrewing any screw he can find now!

A big shout out to the members of the Peterson Power Tools for their contribution: Uncle Danny, Beepa, Daddy, Soren, & Bodie!  A big thank you to our other contributing sponsors, Grandma, Rachel,  Aunty Amy, Nick, and Tim.  IMG_6459IMG_6460IMG_6417IMG_6462

The kids are loving the swing set and we are loving their entertainment.
