The only good thing about Soren's recent 430 am wake ups... 715pm...
Welcome to the new and improved Sidell Peterson website. As our family is evolving, so is our blog. We hope to be able to create a more up-to-date record of the kiddos. Enjoy and check back often.

Soren the Thespian
Anyone who knows Soren knows he has been a bit of a ham since the day he was born. He loves to entertain. He loves to make people laugh. And he loves to be dramatic. This is why we were not surprised when he said that he wanted to take acting lessons offered at our local theater. Before signing him up for acting lessons, that are a rather large time and financial commitment, we told him he could do a day of Drama Camp during February vacation to test the waters.
When we dropped him off this morning we were a little nervous as he was a bit shy and clearly the youngest one there. We were pleasantly surprised when we went to the end of the day viewing of a production. While the kids worked on various acting skills throughout the day, they spent the last 1.5 hours writing and rehearsing their version of Hansel and Gretel. I honestly anticipated that Soren would either be overly silly or more shy than we are used to. Whatever I expected, it was not the level of seriousness that Soren put into it! He was silly when he was suppose to be silly. But he played nervous, scared, excited, etc at appropriate times! And I was even more surprised to see that he was one of the stars of the show!
I caught a couple of shots and videos of his acting debut!

Not only was he super cute, but he LOVED it! He begged us to allow him to do camp all week and sign up for acting lessons. Move over Jack Black, we may have a new comedian in the house!

Go Hampden!
This is what the kids cheered while watching the Hampden Broncos swim team. As a part of our ongoing propaganda campaign to convince the kids to join the swim team, we brought them to their first swim meet. And we adults, got a small taste of what our parents did for more than a decade.
