Breakfast as Art: Take 2

A while back we posted our family tradition of pancake Sunday (or Saturday).  We have been so busy lounging at camp all summer that we have not gotten a chance to do pancakes in months. As we settle in for winter, we kicked off our pancake Sunday with a bang…or should I say a sugar high!

Okay, So its Been a While—Part IV

Like this summer, we have had beautiful weather this fall and the boys have been enjoying the yard tremendously.

     Soren has even learned to pump on his own. Which certainly make swinging much more enjoyable for his parents:)

Okay, So its Been a While—Part III

We are so lucky to live just one mile from the Greater Bangor Area’s fall hotspot, Treworgy’s Family Orchard (treworgyorchards.com). We have taken advantage of our close proximity and been apple picking many times.

And they think the different kinds of gourds are really cool.  Here they are just getting a closer look:)

Needless to say, they have eaten a LOT (seriously a LOT) of apples this fall. And of course Soren is getting quite crafty, so no matter where I put the apples, he can find them and dole them out to he and his brother multiple times a day.  I guess I can think of some worse snacks for them.

Okay, So its Been a While…Part II

We had such a busy summer, we have enjoyed several low-key days just hanging out at home. It has taken the boys a while to recover from our late nights and running around for the summer, but I think they are easing in to the slow-paced life of fall.

Keto

 

Keto Sidell Peterson May 2002-September 30, 2010

Unfortunately, our beloved dog, Keto, died unexpectedly on September 30th. He died doing what he loved—chasing things. And we are quite confident that he passed quickly and painlessly.

Keto was initially named after an Orca at Sea World (since his was born in Orlando), however, he answered to many names including, “Squido”, “Weto”, and most often “The Guido”. “The Guido” ended up being a more appropriate name for him as he lost his front teeth and a chunk of his ear in various fights with his brother. If they made gold chains and rings for dogs, Guido would have worn them.

We first bought Keto as a playmate for Koki when he was 7 weeks old. The first day we brought him home, Koki hip-checked him and Keto immediately growled at Koki. We knew at that moment, Keto would have the spunk it took to keep up with our family!  Keto was a very fiesty little terrier who loved to chase anything—balls, kids, lawn mowers, and his favorite, skunks. Keto was always full of energy and was incredibly happy-go-lucky. He was one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. He always wanted to cuddle and be close to everyone. He LOVED attention and was a good advocate for getting his needs met. He liked to snuggle under the blankets at night and was a very loud snorer.

Keto is survived by his adoptive brother, Koki, who will miss him terribly.

We will miss you and love you Guido!
