Devon for a Day

Soren and Bodie have a wonderful daycare provider by the name of Devon. She is energetic, perky, great with the kids, patient, and seems to still like the kids at the end of the day.  I fully admit I am in awe with her abilities as I am exhausted after watching my two only 4 days a week.  Anyway, this week, I found myself watching 4 kids for the day.  While I was a little nervous, I thought, if Devon can do this with a million kids every day, I can make it one day!

The day started off strong with a family style breakfast. IMG_3400(Soren was the only one who would look into the camera, and this is what I got)

We then moved on to play-doh.  The kids were doing so well, I thought it was a good idea to leave them to the play-doh while I check out Facebook for a while…it didn’t work out as well as I had hoped, but they had a great time.

We then moved into the tv room for story time followed by a snack. IMG_3413

Did some more playing, had some lunch, some quiet time, and some coloring, dinner, and finished they day, equally as strong but much more exhausted with a movie in the bedroom projected onto the wall (because what 3 and 1 year olds do not need a movie projector for their room)

By the end of the day, I was not what you would call energetic, perky, great with the kids, patient, or seeming to still like the kids. However, no one was bleeding, starving, or at least too emotionally traumatized, so I think that in my book , I would call the day a success!

And I would like to give a big shout out to Devon for doing such a great job helping me raise my children!

Great job Mandies!! I agree with you though, Devon can finish each day with a smile on her face & a house full of kids....more than I can say with just my 2 kids. You did great with all four though!
