Underoos are Super Cool

Here are  a few shots of Boodle rocking his underoos he got for his birthday from Aunty Jess. Thanks Aunty Jess!  He loved them so much that I couldn’t get him to sit still for the picture!

And then he thought he would make a bold fashion statement by layering…

News on the potty-training (or lack thereof) front:

Bodie continues to be very interested in using the potty. When you take his diaper off and tell him to use the potty he always performs.  About half the time, he does tell us before he has to go, but you have a short amount of time to get him to the potty.  Overall, he is very interested, however we are notSmile  Isn’t it just so much easier when shopping at Target to tell him to just go in his diaper?!  We are sure that if we wanted to put any energy into some training, he could be fairly trained, however, because we are lazy, we’ll continue on until he absolutely demands the pottySmile  Yes, I know, we are 2nd rate parents…

A Very Boodley Birthday

Boodle had a great 2nd Birthday filled with celebrations. First, we piggy backed on Timmy’s 4th Birthday party at the bowling lanes…

And then back to the St.Pierre/Sidell house for cake and presents…

The kids had a great time. So that was it for Birthday celebrations…for that day anyway.  The next day was Sunday…celebration #2…

Bodie got to celebrate his 2nd birthday with the Petersons…

And at last, I couldn’t find my camera on his actual birthday celebration, but he celebrated on the 17th as well…For a two year old, this guy sure can party!

Happy 2nd Birthday Bodie!

The Making & The Falling of the Cake

So anyone who knows me, knows I am far from domestic. I often have grandiose ideas, but lose interest about half way through its execution and give up. And really think it is easier to pay for most things than to try to make them.  For those reasons, everyone questioned my idea to making Boodle a pot of gold cake for his birthday.

But determined I was, and I pushed on anyway.  The cake started out great

IMG_3648But if you look very closely at this picture, you will notice the lip of the pot on the right hand side is beginning to fall. The first chunk literally fell while I was taking the first picture. IMG_3651IMG_3652But I thought I made a smooth recovery when I just covered the fallen lip with a cascade of gold coins…

But then another lip fell, and another…

IMG_3654IMG_3655

Ultimately, I ended up with about 3 inches of lip left, but luckily, that happened to be located right above the shamrock.  So in the end, perhaps others were right and my grandiose idea, was again, a bit too grandiose for my actual level of skill. But it still tasted great, made Boodle happy, and turned everyone’s teeth black.  Really, what more can you ask for in a cake?!  And now, we are already gearing up for Soren’s birthday cake!

P.S.  Greg, the competition is on!

Happy Birthday Boodle

Two years ago today, an little leprechaun entered our lives.  And boy has that little leprechaun lived up to his date of birth.  He has caused sleepless nights, messes all around, he has been incredibly mischievous, and naughty. But with his little leprechaun antics, he brought with him luck. Because we feel so lucky to have such a cute, sweet, naughty, silly, smart, mischievous, determined little leprechaun in our family.

Happy 2nd Birthday Boodle!

The Floor Is Spotless…

Er…Nevermind.

This is what happened to the clean floors when I went upstairs for a total of 90 seconds to get dressed.

IMG_3530IMG_3531IMG_3532

Bodie is into helping himself to everything. The other day I walked into the kitchen only to find that Bodie had gotten the milk out of the fridge, the chocolate mix out of the top shelf of the cupboard, a cup, and a spoon.  He had no idea why I didn’t want him to make chocolate milk on his own.

Go Ireland!

I wonder if Ireland is looking for a new mascot for the next World Cup?

A Little Late for Valentines

So this post is a little late for Valentines Day, but we actually did celebrate on Feb 14th.  Soren said it was the “most awesome Valentines ever!”

And I am guessing that by “awesome” he meant, he loved getting lots of candy!

Actually, I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised that Soren was just as excited about his new toothbrush and toothpaste as he was about the candy!

Bodie on the other hand…

preferred the candySmile

But all enjoyed the pink, heart-shaped pancakes for dinnerSmile

Scientists in the Making…

IMG_3489

A few weeks ago, we were put in charge of trying to clean out my father’s lab. Talk about a hoarder! But that’s a whole other blog…Anyway, since we went in on a weekend and and full reign of the place, we brought the kids. They had a great time conducting experiments with the dads, as the mom’s got to sort through papers, notes, and dust from the 1970s.

IMG_3482IMG_3484

Soren has always been into dinosaurs, but since our visit to the lab, he has been quite adamant that he is going to be a “scientist” and more specifically, a paleontologist.  But don’t worry, because he always reminds me that as soon as he is done with his adventure and finds all of the dinosaur bones he is going to come right back home to visit with MommySmile
