Welcome Baby Quinn

Congratulations to Anne & Travis who welcomed Baby Quinn on May 28th!  Travis came home on leave for the military for what he thought would be a baby moon of sorts. Anne and Travis rented a house on MDI for their last vacation alone as just a married couple, but little Quinn had other plans!  Five weeks early, but just as perfect as can be, Quinn arrived!  He was a 5 pounder—just over half of what Bodie weighed when he was born!  We just couldn’t get enough of him and are totally in love!!!!

Soren and I even got to baby sit while Anne went to get her oil changed!  Soren took his job very seriously.  Quinn was sleeping in his carrier and I gave Soren the task of making sure Baby Quinn stayed safe while I made a phone call.  A few minutes later, Soren called me in to take over his shift while he ran to to the bathroom.  He would not, however, leave Quinn’s side until he was sure I was there to relieve his post!  Soren also helped with the diaper change and bottle feedings.  He was such a big help that Anne even paid him $2 at the end of his shift.  And just when I thought I couldn’t get any more proud of my grown up boy, he shared $1 with BodieSmile  IMG_4994IMG_4999IMG_5000IMG_5001

Travis has been called to duty and will be heading back to Germany on July 5 and then onto another year tour in Afghanistan from there. Not to worry Travis, Quinn will be in good hands while you are gone. And of course we will be here with our excellent baby-sitting skills any time she needs a break.  Please keep Travis and his family in your thoughts while he sacrifices the first year with his baby to protect all of our babies!

What a sweet little guy...both Quinn & Soren. Even sweeter that she shared his earnings w/Bodie. It's moments like that you can realize they ARE listening to what we are asking them, they just choose to only offer it back in little tidbits here and there, but make it even better when you see it without expecting. Big congrats & safe thoughts are with Anne & Travis as they conquer this next year....the biggest sacrifice & not gone unnoticed. I admire both of their courage.
