First Lesson in Roofing

I was beaming with pride tonight when my children got their first roofing lesson!  As many of you know, the Peterson work-ethic is pretty strong. Truly one of my favorite things is to watch Kevin doing some sort of construction project.  I love how self-sufficient, productive, and well, lets face it, manly Kevin is when he builds, fixes, etc.  I would absolutely love for my boys to turn out as handy as their dad. So tonight, was step one in roofing—getting on the roof! 

Bodie was a bit more confident on the ladder and once he got to the roof, he seemed as comfortable there as sitting in the living room.

I think he would have sat there all day having a conversation if we had let him.

But for safety, we made the boys take turns…

Soren was a little nervous on the ladder, but once he was up, he too was quite comfortable and VERY proud!

They even had Kevin show them his comfort on roofs…

And the views…Well, they speak for themselves…

So, in ten years, if you need your roof done, I think the Peterson Power Tools will be at your service!

Mud Baths

Some may not like mud season, but Soren is clearly not one of the those people. Last week he enjoyed the farmer’s field (see post) and this week he managed to find some mud a little a little closer to home.

And I must admit, the hosing off was a bit cathartic! 

Living With a Leprechaun

Hard to believe that it was three years ago today and our Boodly leprechaun was born.  What has it been like living with a leprechaun for three years you ask?…

But most of all, we have been so LUCKY to have such a quiet, lovable, sweet, giggly, devilish, spaztastic, innocent, curious, active, messy, joyful, precocious, adventurous, odd, eager, caring, snuggly, goofy, exciting, energetic, hilarious, questionable, matter-of-fact, creative little boy.

Winter Wonderland…Or, Not…

With this weather, it is hard to believe that it is actually March 12.  The kids spent all day outside in their underpants (yes, Levant is going to miss us and Hampden doesn’t know what it is in for). 

Well, before the clothes came off this is what I found after a five minute phone call inside:

We thought that we lost Soren’s shoes in the mud—those are his socks (hard to tell)

But Bodie had just brought them up to hose them off.

And what the heck, it was a nice day, the kids decided to go for a swim…

I think Bodie is a little confused with what to do with this snow shovel since he hasn’t really seen it in use all winter!This is Soren yelling out what a beautiful day it is!

We sure will miss these naked days on the farm!
