Successful Christmas

I would say that Christmas of 2012 was a success!  We tried to give a few quality gifts instead of the mountains of toys they usually get and never play with. And quality they got!!!!  My favorite part about their gifts is they were total surprises. Each of the children only asked for three things for Christmas. From Santa, Soren asked for climbing ropes and walkie talkies. Bodie asked for a snowboard and climbing ropes. And they both asked for stacking cups being sold by Soren’s school.  This left all of the adults in the boys’ lives to give some awesome surprises!

The first surprise were the newest members of the family…

Soren was so surprised, it took him a while to believe it!

Ultimately, the boys were thrilled with their new babies.  Bodie named his Volcano and Soren named his Hampster.

We then put on our boots to check out the awesome gift that Kevin has been working hard on!  IMG_2894

And then, they got to check out the 2-story club house and slide that Beepa has been working hard on.  While it is still laying on it on a trailer that is stuck in the mud of our backyard, it is surely going to be awesome once erected!

And even after all of this, my charming little Soren’s response to, “What was your favorite part about Christmas?” was “Spending time with my family!”

Christmas of 2012 is certainly going to be hard to top!!!

A Hug for My Children

In the wake of the recent Sandy Hook tragedy, after a long day’s work, I just want to return home and hug my children.  But this proved a big hard the other night…

Well, at least I can take comfort in knowing that if we ever encountered an intruder in our house, I think Soren would be safely hidden.

Pinspirations!

Yes, I am addicted to Pinterest…but for good reason!
Here are just a few of Decembers pinspirations in our house!

Pinkham Family Christmas

It was another successful Pinkham Family Christmas in the books!  As always it is great to see the family and catch up with the on goings.  What I thought was cool was that Soren is finally old enough to realize that the Pinkhams are his Grammie’s family.  Soren had some questions for Grammie’s sister, Aunt Laurie. He wanted to know who was taller, Grammie or Laurie. He asked a lot about what Grammie looked like compared to Laurie. It was very nice to see Soren showing such an interest and understanding, keeping Grammie’s memory alive!  I am sure she would have been proud!
